Last night I saw a cat toy which had the most EXCITED kitten in the world on the packaging. I’m totally gunna go back and get a photo of it for you guys, amazing. How was your week? Have some good stuff…

  • I got a tumblr the other day, so you can see my ‘digital’ scrapbook. Some of the things may end up in the WGS, but quite a lot will just hang out there. Don’t ask me what a tumblr is.

cross eyed graft2 20080421

  • I only just found out about cross-eyed 3D photos. I got a headache soon after.
  • We saw Inglorious Basterds on Sunday, you should go and see it. It was wicked coooool. We were pretty drunk when we went, and I ordered pepsi max from the concessions by saying ‘We want pepsi max, because it’s awesome, to the MAX!’. It’s a laugh riot, a laugh riot.
  • It should also be noted that I got my eyebrows threaded in the middle of a busy shopping centre. It was an experience.

Been a bit quiet around here this week hasn’t it? I’ve been kinda busy, I have a new/rehashed project in the works that’s taken up most of my evenings. All will be revealed next month.

  • This is the best thing I’ve seen all fucking week. Look at him! Legend!
  • This guitar is like a stick of rock, and I like rock. On another guitar related note, RIP to the legend behind the modern electric guitar Mr. Les Paul who died yesterday.

Is summer almost over? It’s kinda starting to look that way, but I love Autumn so I’m not really complaining :)

  • This was one of my highlights of the week on the CR blog, designer Nicholas Saunders shares some of the work he did for the Half Blood Prince movie. Some really nice vintagey images, definitely worth a look.
  • A must read – Sincerely, John Hughes.

  • Epic haircuts, you won’t be able to click away! http://dontjudgemyhair.com/. So far as the one above goes, wtf is going on there? What are they faking surprise at?! And did that kid grow up to be teen wolf?!
  • Making plans. I picked up the ‘adult learners’ catalogue from the library, Adam & I will be taking a course together and then I’ll be taking another one on my own. Exciting! Seems like I’m determined not to have any free evenings :O
  • What do you guys think of the topshop horror girl collection? I’m not very impressed tbh, looks like a bunch of amateurs browsed some of the DIY punk forums and created a collection from it. I much prefer this panda sweater.

cuties

  • Last friday night we decided to go a-drinking in Huddersfield. The place was literally CRAWLING with people over 40, making out in bars, feeling each other up. It was ridiculously gross. We went to Warehouse, which is generally filled with underaged kids… the oldies were there too! I took to insulting them by way of the text-in screen. It was like being on a Cougar safari, swear to god. Anyway, we geeked out and abused the text screen with epicness that could not be beat, you can see the start of our geek onslaught in that photo…. they turned they text screen off shortly after. I thank you.

How was your week? Mine was so-so, between dodging the rain and wrestling kittens off the curtains, it was pretty run of the mill. I did start reading the Harry Potter series again, though, which is always uplifting. So, I missed a weekly good stuff last week for some random reason, here’s a combined list of last week’s and this week’s stuff :D

  • Great use of a t-shirt for the new Resident Evil: darkside chronicles. Win.
  • Article about web fonts, or lack of, at the i love typography blog.

  • We saw Moon last weekend, you should really check it out. And did you know the director is David Bowie’s son? He goes by his regular old name nowadays, though.

Hi guys, how was your week? I had another pretty full on one, what with going to the cinema 3 times, visiting the Yorkshire show and building our kitchen. The weekend’s going to be chilled out, and we have no plans set for next week either… bliss!

emma watson rupert grint and daniel radcliffe harry potter and the half blood prince movie image s

  • I take it all your *proper* harry potter fans caught a showing on opening day, right? We surely did… and on the big screen to boot! We were turning it into a potter fest with some friends, but alas they didn’t book their tickets and it was sold out. What did you think? I know there’s been a bit of controversy due to the amount of stuff that they didn’t include, but what did you expect? it’d be about a day long if they did it verbatim! I also think it had the best scene that Daniel Radcliffe has ever acted. By FAR!
  • The other two films we caught this week were Brüno (which I found so nervously funny) and ‘Let the Right One In’ which I wrote about yesterday. Cinema was like a second home this week, I must say!

  • I almost wrote an entirely seperate post about this, but then forgot. This little portable cube, measuring just a few metres square, sleeps 4 people with a full working environment. It includes a shower, kitchenette, bathroom, mp3 surround sound, flat screen TV… and a telescope! Completely with a viewing hatch for the stars whilst you sleep in one of the pull-out beds. Now that we’ve pulled down our asbestos ridden shed in the backgarden….. Anyway, you should check out the website, much more photos and information there. So adorable.
  • An interesting post about how cocaine & other drugs used to be freely available, and what products they were used in. From a branding & packaging point of view, it’s quite strange to see cocaine aimed at children!
  • Agentlover went to Tokyo, and has been blogging about it. Sea Of Shoes went a week or so ago, too, and also blogged/photographed. I definitely need to go to Tokyo.

violet and daisy

  • After reading the interview with Matthew Scott on Pikaland this week, I headed straight to his etsy store and picked up one of these prints. This will adorn part of our staircase wall :)

two kittens in a basket

  • Your cute for the week, my two kittens in a basket. You can follow their growth and antics on my flickr account, I should make a blog for them, really!

  • And finally… I thought you might want to see these amazing Asics trainers. Available from Nov. 1st apparently. WANT! Unfortunately, it seems they’re only going to be US based.. as per usual with anything remotely good lookin’.

Friday, friday, FRIDAY! How was your week, kittens? Lets top it off with some fabulous things, shall we?

  • Yesterday I decided that I needed something new to listen to on the walk to work, I started looking at audio books (wow, pricey), but coincidently Miss Gala Darling was doing a special day long sale on her new audio series ‘Love & Sequins‘. I thought what the hell, and bought a year subscription last night. So it came to about £37, but for 12 episodes each at over an hour, filled with super girl fun stuff, and the ability to support an independent blog queen, I think it’s money well spent. I listened to the first 35 minutes of episode 1 this morning and it’s a really good listen, I must say. Do you guys listen to any interesting pod casts?

  • This shirt by Luella.
  • My watch of calculatory dreams arrived yesterday, it’s so fly!
  • I booked our tickets for Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince! I’m so so so excited, really can’t wait. How geeky! I even made sure to book for the showing with the big screen, too. Speaking of Harry Potter…

elle exclusive emma watson in the magazine homepage front

emma watson

  • Far from flashing her panties on the red carpet, Emma Watson’s photo shoot for this months UK Elle really shows how she’s grown up! Cute!
  • I’m super excited for the new finestimaginary necklaces coming in a few days, there’s 7 new designs on the way! Yep, 7!
  • I’ve found myself sketching a story about a girl who fell in love with a sea monster, it’s kinda creepy cute. She travels across the sea in a hot air balloon trying and find her lost love. Who knows where this’ll go!

6a00e5508e95a98833011570ccf562970c 500wi

  • Very jealous that I didn’t go to the Luella sample sale, Susie Bubble went, though, and picked up some cute things. The bag pictured above is most definitely my favourite thing! Oo two luella things in one post!

il 430xN.69181909

  • Gotta get me one of these! I think I’ll have to find some place for a cardboard safari head in the house, definitely.
  • Also, NSFW, but HILARIOUS.
  • In other news we now have kitchen counters & a working HOB! I made soup on it, epic.

  • If I were a paper princess, I’d like to live in this paper castle.
  • I bought the calculator watch of dreams! It’s currently winging it’s way to me :D Wahoo!

  • To say I really fucking want this would be an understatement. It would match our kitchen amazingly. omg.
  • Doe Deere wrote an interesting article/interview about running your own business.

  • I want those nikes this much. I’ve been playing with outfit ideas on polyvore. Note the watch of dreams, too.

Flickr favourites

  • My flickr favourites seem to have a ridiculous amount of norwegian forest kittens.Tiem to start looking at other things again!
  • Happy 4th of July weekend to all my American friends, we’re headed out for steaks tomorrow night in celebration!
  • The FinestImaginary giveaway winner was announced on the lovely little deer blog, they went for the pink teapot necklace! For those of you who didn’t win, I’ll be posting a competition on the FinestImaginary website this weekend. You can subscribe to the blog over there to be the first to know! Also, use code ‘madeyoulook’ for a sweet saving at checkout :D

Good morning & hello, apparently today is the happiest day of the year, happyhaps! It’s ridiculously sunny outside (apart from that ominous cloud… boo) and I woke up with a kitten foot in my face, so I’m totally buzzy :D:D

Cinderella in real life

These works place Fairy Tale characters in modern day scenarios. In all of the images the Princess is placed in an environment that articulates her conflict. The ‘…happily ever after’ is replaced with a realistic outcome and addresses current issues.
  • We’ll kick the week off with this delicious set of photos from Dina Goldstein. The images represent real life depictions of fairytale princesses when their happily-ever-after hit a fail. Lovely, dark imagery… although I would have preferred un-disneyfied costumes for this set, but princess costumes are hard to come by I guess! More here

Paris map print

  • I’ve been looking for new art for the house, this was featured on a blog somewhere yesterday and I bookmarked it straight off. Lovely! Infact, a lot of the stuff in this store is super cute, http://www.bodieandfou.com/

jans sport pink daiquiri bag

  • I needed a new bag for work, mainly because I want to start walking down. At the moment I have a shoulder bag with my laptop and other bits in, and then an extra bag full of notebooks, sun lotion, pencils etc. Not very good for walking with due to shoulder killage. Anyway, I found this jansport bag on amazon yesterday and it even has a laptop section! So I snapped it right up :)

Seeing as I didn’t do a good stuff post last week (’cos of kitten preparation more than anything), I thought I’d bring you a bit of a extended edition this week. Enjoy!

The high line park new york

  • Next time I’m in New York I really want to check out this new park that’s just opened. The High Line was a disused overhead rail section in Manhattan (Chelsea area) that some clever people have turned into a public park! What an amazing concept!!

Chanel pumps

  • These chanel pumps are hot. Not too sure about the mustard colour, though…

sylvia plath faber faber poetry book ted hughes faber faber poetry ts eliot faber faber poetry book

  • I’m not a poetry reader, but I could really get into it if the book covers looked like this… I know, shh. Books/Covers & all that.

Typography mobiles

  • Woah… this stuff is almost enough to give you a typogasm! Lovely looking things.

condiment gun

  • Now that bbq season is upon us, I have GOT to get me know of these babies!

squishi print shop

squishi print shop

  • Nice to see some good T-shirts from the UK. Sad to see a print shop :( I miss printing :(… soon, soon.
  • Nice little write up about my favourite city, Manchester, on design*sponge. It’s fun to read about some of my favourite spots! Ah, Manchester. I lived there for my 3 years at University and Adam still studies there, but I miss it :*(

UK Definitive Circulating Coinage - New Reverse Designs

  • The D&AD awards were held last night, you can see the full list of winners here. My favourites include the poke balloonacy balloon race (which hiphop took part in back in the day!) and the royal mint coins (above).

It’s that time of the week again, lets see… I’ve had quite a busy one, gettings things ready for moving to the house this evening, but I’m sure I have a few things to share :)

sushi cat

  • I’ll start with a photo of Sushi, looking most disconcerted! I had to chase her around the table for about 5 minutes to get a photo of her face. Probably why she looks so pissed.
  • Watched a show last night that featured Alnwick Gardens in Northumberland (you might remember some photos of the castle that I took last year?), turns out they have a walled garden dedicated to poisonous and deadly plants!

zombie mobile

  • Scar your kids for life? Or prepare them for every apocolyptic eventuallity? This zombie mobile rocks my undead socks.
  • I need to stop looking at cute cameras, because I end up wanting THEM ALL. This week I lusted after this camera that was featured on decor8.
  • I really like this bedroom featured twice on CRAFT this week for two different reasons. The blue and black go really well togther, and I love the architectural detail on the ceiling.

raised cat feeder

  • I’ve mentioned before with some glee the wall-mounted feeders from These Creatures, well now you can get the same great design in a less permanent product, check out these delicious raised cat feeders.
  • After visiting Hong Kong, you realise how many people wear those face mask things, ‘cept they’re all booooorrring. Try these pimped ones instead.

plush tauntaun

  • I was supposed to post this last week, but totally forgot. The amazing Heidi from MyPaperCrane has made this plush version of Luke inside the Tauntaun, I mean, wow. It’s amazing!!

physics win

  • I leave you with some physics win.

Do you have anything you’d like to share in the weekly good stuff post? Drop me an email with your favourite things! kim@finestimaginary.com

Hi kittens, I’m SLOWLY getting back on track with things after retruning from HK, unfortunately the blog has suffered a little due to this. Hopefully this weekend I’ll have some things lined up for the next week. Anyway, here’s a small weekly good stuff post for you :)

  • First of all, if you only glance at my good stuff posts, you really should deifnitely watch this video. It’s fucking amazing, honestly, it’s your cute for the week!

fennec fox

  • And if you’re in the mood for cutes, check out these fennec foxes, zomg SQUEE!

chaserbillboard 0

  • Amazing advertising as posted as CR-blog.

leica camera

  • Super pretty camera, this would sit nicely next to my eidelweiss diana+ (which, I have to say, didn’t stand up very well to my rucksack in HK, the paint started chipping… not good!).
  • Adam and I read the whole of this blog last night, Tiny Art Director. Some illustrator guy asks his 4 year old daughter what he should draw, then she critiques his work. Head over there for hilarious commentary and ridiculous briefs!

red riding play set

  • My adorable talented friend lindsay has made this amazing dress-up set!!! Get it on etsy!

  • OK that’s all, here’s a photo of me and Beardy McBeardFace on the MTR to disney HK. We can never take nice photos.

What great weather this week kiddles, summer’s on its way! Wahoo!!

  • I love this video, I saw it last week I think and I’ve watched it a few times since. Such a great concept :)
  • Shopping around for kitten things ready for when we get our bundles of fluff in a few weeks, who knew cats needed seatbelts?!

carolinepeek1

  • Nice to see this room on design sponge, the colour scheme is pretty much identical to our new living room, the green is almost spot on!

fountainofbooks

  • tsktsk Naughty disney, or incredibly resourceful. Check out this neat resemblance montage, it’s really super interesting!

hamburger cupcakes

  • Hamburger cuppies, I can think of nothing cuter! Made from a combination of vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes and various colours of frosting!
  • Tomorrow we’re sanding our living room floor :O And I’ll have photos of the colours we’re picked and painted in the lounge and bedroom.
